Verify the ISEER Rating
A 5-Star AC in April 2026 must have an ISEER of 5.80+. If it shows 5.0, it's an old 2023/2024 model — don't pay 2026 premium prices for it. Check the BEE star label image in the Amazon listing.
Old ISEER 5.0 models are still listed as "5-Star" on Amazon. Always check the actual ISEER number in Technical Details.
Confirm 100% Copper Condenser
Ensure the listing says "100% Copper Condenser" — not just "copper" or "copper-coated." Aluminum condensers are cheaper but corrode within 3–4 years in Indian humidity and cannot be brazed (repaired) when they leak.
Some listings say "copper" but mean only the indoor evaporator. The outdoor condenser must also be copper.
Choose R-32 Over R-410A
R-32 refrigerant has 68% lower Global Warming Potential than R-410A and is more efficient. India's BEE is phasing out R-410A by 2028. Buying R-32 in 2026 ensures your AC remains serviceable for the next decade.
R-22 refrigerant is banned in new ACs. If a listing mentions R-22, it's a counterfeit or very old stock.
Match Tonnage to Room Size
Under 120 sq. ft. → 1 Ton. 130–180 sq. ft. → 1.5 Ton. 200–300 sq. ft. → 2 Ton. Add 0.25 Ton for top-floor rooms or west-facing windows. Wrong tonnage = short-cycling or overloading.
Oversizing is as harmful as undersizing. A 1.5 Ton in a 90 sq. ft. room destroys the compressor within 5 years.
Check "Brand Authorized" Seller Badge
Always buy from a "Brand Authorized" seller on Amazon. This ensures warranty validity, genuine product, and access to the brand's service network. Third-party sellers may void your warranty.
Check the "Sold by" section. If it's not the brand's official store or an authorized seller, the warranty may not be honored.
Confirm 2026 Model Year
In the Amazon listing, scroll to "Technical Details" and check the "Model Year" field. Ensure it says 2026. Old 2023/2024 stock is sometimes listed at 2026 prices after minor rebranding.
If the model year is not listed, ask the seller directly before purchasing. A 2024 model will not meet 2026 BEE ISEER standards.
Record Your Unboxing Video
Amazon's 10-day replacement policy is your best friend for DOA (Dead on Arrival) units. Record a continuous unboxing video from the moment you open the box. This is your proof if the unit is damaged or non-functional.
Without an unboxing video, Amazon and the brand may dispute DOA claims. This is non-negotiable for a ₹35,000+ purchase.
Book Amazon Installation Add-On
Amazon's installation add-on (₹1,200–₹1,500) uses brand-authorized technicians who perform vacuuming and nitrogen pressure testing as standard. Local technicians often skip these steps, leading to gas leaks within 6 months.
Never let a local technician skip the vacuuming step. Moisture in the copper pipes destroys the compressor within 2 years.
